Sport at Greens Norton
Sport is an important aspect of our school. We believe that through sport, including our PE curriculum, extracurricular activities, sports events/competitions and active lessons, we can develop physical literacy in children and encourage healthy lifestyles. Sport helps us achieve our vision building confidence and the skills in children so that they can excel and flourish.
As well as our school values, sport enables us to regularly teach and encourage the school games values of;
determination, honesty., respect, passion, teamwork and self-belief.
We are committed to ensuring that all children have the opportunity for active learning, access to high quality PE lessons, and are able to experience a variety of intra and inter school competitions.
PE and Sports Premium
What is PE and sport premium?
The Primary PE and sport premium was introduced in March 2013 to improve the provision of physical education and school sport in primary schools across England. The funding is allocated directly to primary schools and is ring-fenced. This means it may only be spent on improving the provision of PE and sport in schools. In February 2014 the government committed to continue the funding until 2020.
Click on the link below to read how we will be spending this money to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.
